Chhindwara:

Ruling party president JP Nadda said at Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh on Friday that the BJP was not opposed to the caste census but the Congress wanted such an exercise to divide the society.

Nadda claimed that the Narendra Modi government’s focus is on empowering ‘GYAN’ or Gharib, Yuva, Annadatta-Kisan and Narishakti (poor, youth, farmers and women) who progress is crucial to national development.

“We are not against having a caste census but the Congress wants such an exercise to divide people. The Opposition is in disarray as Prime Minister Modi has changed the way politics is run in the country. Earlier, it was based on caste, religion, region etc. Congress pits brothers against each other,” he said.

“Under Prime Minister Modi, development politics has taken center stage. People want to be associated with development. Politics now is not based on vote banks and appeasement, but on your track record and ability to discharge responsibilities,” India The PPP chief further said.

He said Prime Minister Modi has taken bold decisions such as abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and implementation of One-Class Pension (OROP) for ex-servicemen’s welfare.

Before 2014, the country was riddled with corruption, but now “India is not a begging country, but a leading country.”

“India is now the fifth largest economy in the world, larger than the United Kingdom, which once ruled the country. During Modi’s third term, the Indian economy will reach the third largest economy in 2027. Exports of electronic products increased sixfold, pharmaceuticals Exports increased by 138%.” “Exports of petrochemical products increased by 108%,” he said, welcoming Modi’s policies.

“Congress is setting up fourteen medical colleges. The state government’s Ladli Behna Yojana is empowering women. The Modi government passed the Women’s Reservation Bill. The next polls will be conducted as per the provisions of the new bill,” Mr. Nadda said.

On the other hand, the Congress-led Indian National Development Inclusion Alliance (INDIA) has come together to rescue the corrupt and their families, Nadda claimed.

Chhindwara, a bastion of senior Congress leader Kamal Nath, was the only parliamentary seat won by the opposition in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. The remaining 28 seats were won by the BJP.

Mr Nadda praised the high turnout and said it was clear people wanted to elect a local leader this time.

Mr. Nadda said the Congress had issued tickets to only one family in Madhya Pradesh.

“Kamal Nath and his (sitting MP) son Nakul Nath represent dynastic politics, just like Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. Only in the BJP, the Only a son can become the Prime Minister. The same applies to MP CM Mohan Yadav and (senior leader) Kailash Vijayvargiya,” Mr Nadda said.

Incumbent MP Nakul Nath is contesting against the BJP’s Vivek Bunty Sahu.

Addressing the meeting, CM Yadav said Kamal Nath and his son were outsiders.
