Mr. Nadda also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying the country had made rapid progress under his leadership.

“Today, India’s aspiration is that there should be a corruption-free government. There should be a development-oriented government. The country has made rapid progress under Modi’s leadership,” Mr. Nadda said.

The BJP leader also claimed that the situation in the villages has changed under Modi’s leadership. There are 18,000 villages without electricity, but all were electrified after Modi became Prime Minister in 2014.
