Bharat Mart will be set up in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) and will be managed by DP World.
India is planning to set up its own warehousing facility, Bharat Mart, in the UAE to provide exporters with a unified platform to showcase their diverse products under one roof, much like China’s “Dragon Mart”.
While the concept has not yet been finalized, the facility is expected to be operational by 2025, an official said.
Bharat Mart, which is likely to span over 100,000 sq m, will serve as a multi-purpose facility offering integrated facilities such as warehouses, retail and hotels.

Bharat Mart will have retail showrooms, warehouses, offices and other ancillary facilities to accommodate various categories of goods ranging from heavy machinery to perishable items.
There are also plans to set up a digital platform for global buyers to source goods from the facility.
The Bharat Mart project is of great significance as India and the UAE plan to double their non-oil trade target to $100 billion by 2030 under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).
Prime Minister Modi visits UAE
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday and was greeted at the airport by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Later in the day, the two leaders held one-on-one and delegation-level talks.
The leaders of the two countries reviewed the bilateral partnership, discussed new areas of cooperation, and welcomed the deepening of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields such as trade and investment, digital infrastructure, financial technology, energy, infrastructure, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
They even discussed regional and global issues.
