Bengaluru man stabs woman to death, mother kills daughter's killer

In a double murder case in Bengaluru, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her acquaintance who later died on the spot after being hit with a stone by the woman’s mother in Jayanagar area on Thursday, police said . .

The victims were identified as Anusha and 44-year-old Suresh. They said they had known each other for five years.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Anusha and Suresh got into an altercation in the park after she started keeping distance from him and he felt uncomfortable about it. Police said she wanted no contact with him.

A senior police officer said they met in a park where he allegedly stabbed her twice.

Before leaving the house, Anusha told her mother that she was going to the park to meet someone for five minutes and would be back soon. He said the mother, suspecting something was wrong, followed her daughter to the park and eventually witnessed Anusha being stabbed in front of her.

Deputy Commissioner of Police South Lokesh Bharamappa Jagalasar said Anusha and Suresh were killed at Sarachi Park in Jayanagar around 4.45 pm.

“Based on the investigation so far, it appears that Suresh stabbed Anusha. Anusha’s mother rushed to save her and in the process of rescuing her, she hit Suresh on the head with a stone and he was instantly Death. We are currently questioning a witness,” he said.

Anusha was seriously injured, one on her chest and another on her neck. She was pronounced dead at the hospital, he added.

“The two met at their workplace. Anusha was an administrator while Suresh worked in an event management company. Anusha tried to distance herself from him, which may have led to the incident,” the DCP said.

Two separate cases have been registered in connection with the incident and the mother of the deceased is being questioned, police said, adding that further investigation was underway.
