In a horrific incident, a man in West Bengal’s East Midnapur allegedly killed his wife and was seen walking around the area with her severed head. The accused was later arrested, police said on Wednesday.

According to India Today, the accused was identified as 40-year-old Goutam Guchhait. Locals found him covered in blood near Chistipur bus stand, holding his wife’s head in his hands.

This scene caused panic among the locals, and the police immediately rushed to the scene and arrested the man.

Police found during a preliminary investigation that Guchart was mentally unstable and allegedly killed his wife after a domestic dispute. The defendant later beheaded her with a sharp weapon, the publication reported.

After capturing Guchart, police searched his home and discovered his wife’s body. Further investigation is ongoing, the report added.

In another such incident, a man who allegedly killed his wife in Odisha’s Nayagarh district over an alleged extramarital affair surrendered at a police station and beheaded her. The incident occurred in December last year.

Accused Arjun Bagha caused panic when he walked into Banigocha police station with his wife’s head.

Bagha, a resident of Bidapaju village, told police that he killed his 30-year-old wife Dharitri on suspicion of having an extramarital affair, adding that he killed Dharitri using a sharp weapon and then chopped her down. head.
