April Bank Holidays 2024: The Reserve Bank of India has released the list of April bank holidays. According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks will be closed for a total of 14 days this month. These closures include public holidays, regional holidays and scheduled closures on second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. During festivals in specific states, banks will remain closed only in those states, while during national festivals such as Eid-ul-Fitr, Ram Navami and Baisakhi, banks will remain closed across the country.

Here is the complete list of national and regional holidays in April 2024:

  • April 1 (Monday): Banks close for annual account settlement in most states except Mizoram, Chandigarh, Sikkim, Bengal, Himachal Pradesh and Meghalaya
  • April 5 (Friday): Banks in Telangana, Jammu and Srinagar closed for Babu Jagjivan Ram’s birthday and Jumat-ul-Vida
  • April 9 (Tuesday): Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad-Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad-Telangana, Manipur Gudi Padwa/Ugadi Festival/Telugu New Year/Sajib Nongmapamba (Cheiraoba)/First Navratra Bank Closure in State, Goa, Jammu & Srinagar)
  • April 10 (Wednesday): Banks closed for Ramzan Eid-ul-Fitr (Id-Ul-Fitr) in Kerala
  • April 11 (Thursday): Banks in most states except Chandigarh, Gangtok, Kochi, Shimla and Thiruvananthapuram closed for Ramzan Eid-ul-Fitr (Id-Ul-Fitr) (No. 1 chavar) close
  • April 13 (Saturday): Banks closed during Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba/Baisakhi/Biju festivals in Agartala, Guwahati, Imphal, Jammu and Srinagar.
  • April 15 (Monday): Banks in Guwahati and Shimla closed for Bohag Bihu/Himachal Day
  • April 17 (Tuesday): Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bibi Shree Ram Navami (Chaite Dasain) banks are closed in Khar, Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh.
  • April 20 (Saturday): Garia Puja Bank in Agartala closed

It is recommended that you plan your bank-related work. It must be noted that despite branch closures, facilities such as online banking and Unified Payments Interface will not be affected during these holidays.
