Avalanche warnings have been issued in six districts of Jammu and Kashmir following recent snowfall in the union territory, officials said. They said avalanches of moderate danger level are likely to occur in Poonch, Baramulla, Bandipora and Kupwara districts at altitudes above 2,400 meters in the next 24 hours.

Officials said that in the next 24 hours, the altitude of Doda and Ganderbal areas may be above 2,800 meters and 3,500 meters respectively, and low-risk avalanches may occur. People living in these areas are advised to take precautions and avoid venturing into avalanche-prone areas, officials added.
