Apple is expected to bring OLED iPads in the first half of 2024.

A new report has revealed that OLED panels for Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro models will begin rolling out this weekend, and the devices could ship as soon as late April this year.

Apple has been rumored to be working on OLED iPad Pro models for some time now, and they are expected to replace the existing M2-powered iPad Pro models. These new models are said to be redesigned and may be priced higher than the existing 11″ and 12.9″ models.

The latest on the same comes from The Elec, which says that OLED panels for Apple’s next-generation iPad Pro models will debut later this week, and the devices could ship later in April this year.

The publication says that LG Display, which is making panels with Samsung Display, has already started making the film transistor or TFT layers for the 13” model. Samsung has also reportedly started its process for the 11-inch variant.

Alec said finished versions are ready to go into mass production around March. This is confirmed by what has been said in some recent reports. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman Bloomberg expects the new OLED iPad to hit the market in the spring as early as March. Ming-Chi Kuo also previously reported that the new iPad models will be released in the second quarter of 2024, which could mean April, May, or June.

Currently, the iPad Pro 11″ and 12.9″ models use IPS LCD and MiniLED technology respectively. Switching to OLED is expected to enhance the overall experience, but is also said to increase costs. MacRumors reports that the price of the new iPad Pro models could start at $1,500 and go up to $2,000.
