Starting with the month-end payments of January, “proportional shares for spatially available plays will be calculated using a factor of 1.1 while a factor of 1 will continue to be used for non-spatially available plays.”

The report states that Apple Music users do not have to listen to Spatial Audio to be rewarded with bonus payments to artists.

The number of songs available in spatial audio has increased by nearly 5,000 percent since the feature launched in 2021.
