Aphex Twin has clarified his stance on vaccines after anti-vaccination sentiment and other conspiracy theories surfaced in the ID3 tag of a song posted on SoundCloud.

A Reddit user discovered an ID3 tag on a 2014 song by Cornish producer aka Richard D James that read “Vaccines are toxic, mercury, aluminum cans + autism disease, cancer,” also mentioning 9/11, Hamas and chemtrails.

After receiving news about the text, James posted a comment on SoundCloud explaining that the news was fake.

“I sometimes put random stuff in the id3 tags, but the one about vaccines has changed. When you’re famous, people will try to bring you down, that’s what comes with it. I recommend trying to find common ground with your fellow humans, Rather than dividing yourself into smaller and smaller groups.”

He added his views on vaccines: “For what it’s worth, I’m not opposed to them in principle, but you should look at them on a case-by-case basis, see what’s in them, do your research and decide whether it’s right for you or what you have. Love people, whether you have them or not is up to the individual.”

The famous Hustler musician also said: “I should also add, for future reference, if you want to know my thoughts on any subject, I believe in everything and at the same time believe in nothing.”

The incident comes after he posted a 2020 comment on SoundCloud in which he appeared to write “‘You idiot in a tinfoil hat,’ said someone wearing a two-month-old soggy mask.”

After receiving criticism, he posted again: “I absolutely do not believe COVID-19 is a hoax, I am just very concerned about the erosion of civil and human rights and how we can restore them.” He added: “I mean Yes, what if we the people are not satisfied with any other government policy? Now the number of protestors cannot exceed 6 people, what should we do?”
