Rajasthan Royals star Jos Buttler was in top form during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday. Buttler completed his century on the last ball of the match. Every Rajasthan Royals fan celebrated seeing the England wicketkeeper-batsman regaining form after a series of poor performances. The series even posted a video on social media in which Butler recreated a scene from the Bollywood film Nayak.

As the video went viral on social media, even the film’s lead actor Anil Kapoor took to social media to praise the creative work of the IPL series.

After the match, Rajasthan’s bowling coach Sean Bond revealed that the England star had been unwell in the last few days.

“Buttler has been sick for the last two days and to get out of bed and score a century was an unbelievable effort,” the assistant coach added.

Talking about the performance of pacers Trent Boult and Nand Berger, who were taken to the cleaners by Virat, Bond said: “It wasn’t the best start for us. But we were very good. We were lucky to have five really good bowlers. We limited them to around 180 and felt like we were in the game.”

“(Ravichandran) Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal didn’t concede too many runs. The wickets were good. If you change the pace in the right area or use the right bounce, it’s good for It will help for the bowlers,” the coach added.

Bond praised Virat for his eighth century in the IPL, calling the batsman a “great technician”.

“I really enjoy watching Virat go about his business but it’s frustrating when you’re at the receiving end. Jos scores in all areas of the park and has a lot of power. Those are two different players and it was great to watch,” Bond added.

Bond said RR has a very strong squad with good batting depth and has five genuine bowlers in the form of Chahal, Ashwin, Boult, Burger and Avesh Khan.

“We talked about playing better at home this time. We’ve won three out of three here and that gives us a lot of confidence,” Bond concluded.
