Andhra Pradesh Congress chief YS Sharmila files nomination for Kadapa seat

Elections to 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh are scheduled to be held on May 13.

Andhra Pradesh Congress chief YS Sharmila on Saturday submitted his nomination for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.

Sharmila was accompanied by Sunitha Narreddy, her cousin and the daughter of YS Vivekananda Reddy, who was murdered on the eve of the 2019 polls.

“Nominations for Kadapa assembly candidates have been submitted. People of Kadapa have not forgotten YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Vivekananda. We are sure that they will keep them in mind and vote this time,” Sharmila said at a press conference.

Before filing her nomination, Sharmila offered prayers at the grave of her father Rajasekhar Reddy in Idupurupaya.

As the Congress candidate from the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, she will contest against her cousin YS Avinash Reddy from the ruling YSRCP party led by her brother and chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
