Mahindra Group boss Anand Mahindra has fulfilled his promise and gifted Taltar to Norshad Khan, the father of Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan. Mahindra had promised Thar to Norshad after Sarfaraz made his Test debut. It was Norshad’s sacrifice that helped Sarfaraz realize his dream of representing India at the highest level. When Sarfaraz made his debut, industrialist Anand Mahindra decided to gift him a Mahindra Thar. Reacting to a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Mahindra was so moved by the story of Sarfaraz’s father that he promised to give him a Thar.

In a viral video, Sarfaraz and his father Noshad unveiled their new Thar.

Sarfaraz made a memorable debut for India as he became the fastest batsman to score fifty in his first appearance. He scored half centuries in both innings on his Test debut.

Sarfaraz is Mumbai’s domestic heavyweight, having scored three half-centuries in three Test matches against England. Sarfaraz was offered his first central contract with BCCI after India won the five-match series 4-1.

Sarfaraz recently revealed that his father Noshad urged him to play domestic games as if he were playing for the country and despite his high scores in the national circuit, his selection for the Indian team was delayed .

“So I have only one job and that is to score runs wherever I bat,” Sarfaraz told the India Today Conclave here.

Sarfaraz also revealed that he has received a lot of support from his fans on social media and said that his Instagram account has also seen a huge growth in the number of followers.

“After my Test debut, my Instagram followers have grown to 1.5 million. In the last four years, the number of followers on Instagram was 600,000 to 700,000. All of a sudden, after playing for the Indian team, the number of followers on Instagram It has increased to 1.5 million. That is good,” Sarfaraz said.
