The mother of a missing three-year-old boy and her boyfriend have been charged with child neglect, nearly a week after the child was last seen.according to Fox 59Authorities in the US state of Wisconsin are still searching for the young boy after he was sent to stay with his mother’s boyfriend as a form of punishment. The boy, Elijah Vue, was last seen on February 20 in Twi Rivers, where he was being monitored by Jesse Vang, a man in a relationship with the boy’s mother, Katrina Baur.

according to Fox 59Mr. Vang, 39, told police that when he woke up from a nap at home, he discovered that his 3-year-old child was missing. He also said he had been trying to help Elijah’s mother correct the young boy’s “bad behavior.”

Separately, Ms. Power, 31, said her son had been in Mr. Wang’s care for about a week. She added that Mr Wang was the “rule enforcer” in the relationship, which was why she sent her son to live with him.

Some examples of discipline included praying, apologizing and going over rules the three-year-old was supposed to remember, the outlet reported, citing complaints. Ms Ball also told authorities she wanted Mr Fan to teach Elijah by example how to “be a man”.

according to CNNThe night before Elijah was last seen, Mr. Vang drank three 12-ounce beers and took a muscle relaxant to help him sleep. The next morning, Mr Vang took his son to a bus stop and fed Elijah a dairy-free cereal breakfast. Mr Vang also said the child had not had his diaper changed that morning and was told to stand at the foot of Mr Vang’s bed and pray.

On Monday, Ms. Ball was formally charged with one felony count of child neglect and two misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer. Mr. Wang, on the other hand, was formally charged with one felony count of child neglect.
