After Pandya Store, Kanwar Dhillon all set to lead Rahul Kumar Tiwari’s next project

The Hindi TV industry is currently abuzz with news that veteran actor Kanwar Dhillon, who has had notable appearances in various popular television shows, is all set to play the lead role in Rahul Kumar Tiwari’s upcoming venture. Dhillon’s extensive portfolio includes notable performances in well-received series like Hum Hain Na, Internet Wala Love, Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, Do Dil Ek Jaan, Piya Rangrezz and Ek Aastha Aisi Bhi. Recently, his character of Shiv Pandya in Star Plus’ Pandya Store brought him widespread recognition and established him as a familiar name in households.

With the departure of the initial generation of Pandya Store, there is speculation about Kanwar Dhillon’s involvement in another Star Plus production under the direction of Rahul Kumar Tiwari. Talking about one of his most successful shows till date, Pandya Store, translated as Shop of the Pandyas, is an Indian Hindi-language television family drama series which premiered on 25 January 2021 starring Star Plus and is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Produced by Sunjoy Wadhwa and Komal Wadhwa under the banner of Sphere Origins, the series serves as the official adaptation of Star Vijay’s Tamil show, Pandian Stores.

The cast of the Hindi version includes Kinshuk Mahajan, Shiney Doshi, Akshay Kharodiya, Kanwar Dhillon, Mohit Parmar, Alice Kaushik, Simran Budhrup and Krutika Desai. Starting from July 2023, Priyanshi Yadav and Rohit Chandel will play the second generation lead cast alongside Krutika Desai.

The story revolves around Gautam and Dhara Pandya, a middle-class married couple who look after the management of the Pandya Store. Apart from her professional responsibilities, Dhara takes on the role of taking care of Gautam’s three younger siblings: Dev, Shiva and Krish. While Shiva is married to Raavi and Dev is married to Rishita, the series highlights Dhara’s efforts to unite the family despite various challenges.
