Delhi’s Babar Road signage defaced with ‘Ayodhya Marg’ posters ahead of Ram temple inauguration

With just two days left for the inauguration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram temple, right-wing organization Hindu Sena on Saturday removed the signage of Babar Road in central Delhi and demanded that it be renamed “Ayodhya Marg”. Pictures and videos of the poster were widely shared on social media.

A poster was pasted on the signage of Babar Road on which Ayodhya Marg was written. The poster has now been removed by the authorities.

Reacting to the development, an official of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) said that the council will file a police complaint against the culprits in this case. news agency PTI,

Meanwhile, Hindu Sena president Vishnu Gupta said that the organization has been demanding for a long time that the name of Babar Road should be changed.

The “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony of the grand Ram temple is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 22. Large-scale preparations are underway for the event, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest. Thousands of people including saints, celebrities and politicians have also been invited for this much-awaited event.

It is noteworthy that the Central Government has announced closure of all government offices across the country for half a day. Many state governments, including Assam and Madhya Pradesh, have also declared public holidays or half-days in their respective states.
