Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said BJP stalwart LK Advani challenged dynastic politics and transformed the party’s identity from a “politically untouchable” party to the world’s largest political party platform.

Addressing a rally in Sambalpur, Odisha, Modi said that like former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, his deputy Advani Ji also linked India’s democracy to Inclusion and nationalist ideologies are linked. The Prime Minister also said that the central government is also working to ensure increased household savings by providing Rs 10,000 crore in the budget for rooftop solar schemes.

“Through rooftop solar schemes, people will enjoy zero energy bills,” he said. On women empowerment, the Prime Minister said the Center has also extended the benefits of the Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme to ASHA and anganwadi workers, who will get healthcare services up to Rs 5 lakh.

Modi harshly criticized the Congress party and its allies for “insulting” Droupadi Murmu, whose candidacy was opposed by the opposition parties in the presidential election.

“I have worked with tribal people and understand their plight and difficulties,” Modi said, claiming that they (Congress) have been using tribals as their vote bank. “However; over the past decade, the BJP has been working for the development of tribals in Odisha and other states,” the Prime Minister said.
