Adani Vizhinjam Port in Kerala wins International Security Award 2023

Adani Vizhinjam Port Private Limited (AVPPL) won the International Safety Award.

Trivandrum, Kerala State:

Adani Vizhinjam Port Private Limited (AVPPL) has been awarded the International Safety Award for Calendar Year 2023 by the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping workers and workplaces healthy and safe.

AVPPL is one of 269 global organizations to receive an award at the 2024 International Security Awards, out of a total of 1,124 award-winning organizations.

These organizations cover all industries, with significant representation from the construction, manufacturing, oil, gas, mining, power and utility industries. The winners come from 49 countries around the world, with 269 organizations receiving the Merit Award, 456 organizations receiving the Merit Award, and 399 organizations receiving the Passing Award.

The International Safety Awards, now in their 66th year, recognize and honor organizations around the world that have demonstrated a commitment to preventing workplace injuries and work-related illnesses during the previous year.

They also recognize organizations that are committed to wellbeing and mental health at work.

Ashwani Gupta, CEO, APSEZ said: “This achievement underlines our strong commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in all our operations. The International Safety Awards scheme is open to organizations of all types, sizes and sectors in the UK and internationally, including British Safety Council members and non-members, and is relevant to the management of health and safety at a specific site or business unit. These prizes include a range of automatic entries as well as free entries.

Applicants must answer a series of online questions about health and safety risk management in the previous year, which are assessed by a team of independent health and safety professionals. If the application meets the required standards, a grade of Pass, Merit, or Distinction (for exceptional submissions) will be awarded.

Selected high-scoring winning organizations will be shortlisted for additional recognition in the Automotive Entry Awards, including sector, company, country and a Chief Judge Award for the highest scoring applicant. The awards are judged by an independent panel of judges.
