Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will visit Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh today to offer prayers at the newly inaugurated Ram temple.

The AAP chief had earlier been invited to attend the consecration ceremony of the temple on January 22, but said he wanted to visit the temple with his family later.

Sources said that as an important member of the Indian group, Kejriwal will visit the temple along with his parents. AAP Uttar Pradesh unit leader Sabhajeet Singh said the chief ministers of Delhi and Punjab will arrive at Ayodhya airport from Delhi in a chartered flight around 11 am.

Notably, the AAP party organized a series of events to celebrate the ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Mandir. From Sundar Kand yatras to Shobha Yatras, the party made sure to mark the day with the participation of several of its leaders.

On skipping the consecration ceremony, Kejriwal told reporters, “I received a letter saying that due to security reasons, only one person will be allowed (to attend the ceremony). They said there would be a team to issue personal invitations, but no one came .”

He said he hoped to travel to Ayodhya with his wife and children to attend Ram Lalla’s darshan, adding that his parents were also eager for the darshan of the Lord.

Earlier on Sunday, Uttar Pradesh MPs including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Ram temple. Lawmakers were greeted with flowers and warm welcome in Temple Township.

Members of both the House and Senate of the legislative body, including those of the BJP and its allies, Congress, Socialist Party of the Philippines and Socialist Party of South, supported Ram Lala’s darshan. However, the Samajwadi Party (SP) rejected the visit.
