AAP alleges use of vulgar language in reply to application, official suspended

The Haryana government on Saturday suspended the Kaithal divisional magistrate and assistant returning officer from his post, a day after the AAP claimed that its applications seeking permission for two polls were rejected and used abusive language in its reply.

Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officer Brahm Parkash has been suspended with immediate effect, according to an official order.

During the suspension period, Parkash’s headquarters will be at the office of the principal secretary to the Haryana government in Chandigarh and he will not be allowed to leave the headquarters without the prior permission of the chief secretary, the order said.

AAP claimed that its application to the authorities seeking permission for two polls was rejected and abusive language was used in the reply.

Taking cognizance of the matter, Parkash has suspended five computer operators and directed the police to conduct a thorough investigation.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Haryana unit chief Sushil Gupta, who is contesting the upcoming Lok Sabha elections from Kurukshetra constituency, said on Friday that the party has Two poll projects on April 7 sought permission.

Kaithal is located in Kurukshetra assembly constituency.

“In one case, among the responses we received, it was mentioned in writing that permission had been denied. And in another case, abuse was mentioned in the column where the reasons for approval or denial had to be given,” Gupta said.

While asking the Election Commission to take strict action in the matter, he said there is nothing more shameful than the use of such objectionable language.

AAP leaders said they have applied for permission for the April 7 program on the designated portal.

The Lok Sabha polls are scheduled to be held in seven phases starting from April 19, and counting of votes will begin on June 4.

Haryana will go to polls on May 25.
