An NRI woman from Andhra Pradesh and her daughter died in an accident in Portland, US. The family was heading to the temple to pray for the 32-year-old woman’s birthday.

Kamatham Gitanjali hails from Konarkanchi in Krishna district. Her relatives said she had been brain dead since the accident on Sunday morning.

Police said Gitanjali was traveling southbound on South Meridian Road and failed to stop at a stop sign. Her car, a Ford, collided with another westbound car on Highway 211, owned by Benjamin Hernandez, 18, of Canby. -Lopez).

Relatives said Geetanjali’s five-year-old daughter Hanika died on the spot. Geetanjali suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by doctors.

Her husband Naresh and son Brahman were also injured and are undergoing treatment in the hospital.Braman suffered a broken leg and is undergoing surgery

Geetanjali and her husband have been living in the United States for about 10 years. They are software engineers.
