A day after poll body notification, AAP's Atishi seeks answers from poll body

AAP leader Atishi has received a notice from the Election Commission on allegations of poaching attempts against her by the BJP.

New Delhi:

A day after receiving a notice from the Election Commission, Delhi Minister Atish today sought answers from the Enforcement Directorate on the action taken against the BJP leader in connection with the money laundering case.

Addressing a press conference in Delhi, the senior AAP leader lashed out at the Election Commission, accusing the poll body of working on the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The notice was issued to Atishi by the Election Commission after she alleged that she had been approached by the BJP asking her to join the party or prepare to be arrested by the Enforcement Directorate within a month.

“On mere suspicion, the ED arrested AAP leaders Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia and even our party’s national convener Arvind Kejri Arvind Kejriwal ji, although no monetary clues were found against them,” she claimed.

“What action has been taken against the BJP leaders by the education ministry and the investigating agencies have been able to establish a funding trail,” she asked.

The AAP last month asked the education ministry to file a case against the BJP, alleging that the party had received crores of rupees through electoral bonds from the accused in the Delhi excise policy scam.

The party has also asked the education ministry to file a case against the BJP, claiming that clues about funding in the case have been reached to the party.

At the press conference, Atish also accused the BJP of using the Election Commission like other central agencies to target the opposition.

“BJP has been using agencies like CBI, Election Commission and now Election Commission to target AAP leaders and arrest them. I want to tell the BJP that it should stop hiding behind these agencies and Fight against AAP,” she said.
