A woman died after a tree fell on her house in Konaseema district. Thousands of people were displaced as roads were flooded and trees were uprooted, disrupting life in parts of southern Andhra and neighboring Odisha.
The CMO said that standing crops in more than 38,000 hectares and horticulture crops in about 1.38 lakh hectares were destroyed due to the cyclone’s heavy rains and strong winds in Andhra Pradesh.
As the cyclone crossed the coast, many coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh experienced strong winds and heavy rains, with wind speeds reaching 90 to 100 km per hour.
The strong thunderstorm uprooted trees and electric poles in many parts of Konaseema area and nearby West Godavari and Krishna districts.
The cyclone also destroyed banana plantations in Konaseema district.

Cyclone Montha has caused severe coastal erosion in Podampeta village, causing damage to many houses and properties located close to the coast. The high tide washed away parts of the beach and flooded low-lying areas near the village.

After the storm, a large amount of plastic waste and debris accumulated on the coast in Kakinada district.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday said Odisha escaped serious to major damage. Cyclonic Storm MonthaWhich caused landslides on Andhra Pradesh coast. “Barring a few isolated cases of landslides and falling of trees, there has been no major incident even three hours after the landslide. The damage reported so far is much less than what we expected,” he said.

Cyclone Montha, The cyclone, which had earlier intensified into a severe cyclonic storm over the Bay of Bengal, has now weakened into a cyclonic storm after crossing the coastal districts of Andhra Pradesh, according to the latest update from the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Cyclone Montha It is moving slowly north-northwestwards at a speed of about 15 kmph over coastal Andhra Pradesh. As of 5:30 am on October 29, 2025, the cyclone was still centered over the same area.
The IMD said the system will continue to move towards Telangana and is expected to weaken into a deep depression within the next three hours and a depression after a few hours.
