New Delhi, Oct 26 (IANS) The Ahmedabad Crime Branch of Gujarat Police has issued a lookout circular against Takshashila Construction Group owner Kamlesh Gondalia and other accused persons in a case of cheating and fraud. Officials gave this information on Sunday.

Along with Kamlesh, his son Parthil Gondalia and two other family members Deepti and Avni Gondalia are also named in the circular.

On October 17, 2025, Ahmedabad businessman Rakesh Lahoti had filed a complaint in the Crime Branch that Kamlesh and his associates had defrauded him of crores of rupees.

Kamlesh and other accused are absconding since the FIR was registered. Keeping in mind the possibility that they may try to flee the country, the crime branch issued a lookout circular on Saturday, officials said.

After the FIR was registered, the Crime Branch informed Kamlesh and others about the allegations.

Earlier, on April 12, when Rakesh Lahoti had first informed the crime branch about Kamlesh’s fraudulent activities, Kamlesh had filed an anticipatory bail plea before the sessions court.

The court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Kamlesh and his son, but directed the crime branch to give them seven days’ notice before arresting them in case an FIR is registered.

That seven-day period ended on Sunday, yet neither Kamlesh nor his son Parthil have been traced nor have they approached the court.

However, Deepti and Avni Gondalia have filed a bail plea, which is scheduled to be heard on October 28.

Meanwhile, complainant Rakesh Lahoti has submitted important new evidence to the crime branch, which is likely to intensify the charges against Kamlesh Gondalia.

Lahoti produced a document from the sub-registrar office, which revealed that Kamlesh forged the signature of Jyoti Lahoti (Rakesh’s wife) to fraudulently cancel a registered agreement to sell without Rakesh’s knowledge.

Later, when Rakesh asked Kamlesh about the status of his flats, Kamlesh gave him a written assurance that the flats were still in his name and everything was in order.

The crime branch will now also examine the records of the sub-registrar office, as it is suspected that Kamlesh, in connivance with some officials, has violated stamp duty rules.

After Lahoti’s FIR, many more victims are expected to come forward, as Kamlesh allegedly failed to execute the sale deeds registered for several buyers in the Takshila Aligna project.

Reportedly around 25-30 such buyers held a meeting a few days ago and have decided to take legal action against Kamlesh Gondalia.
