Support for the monarchy on record low, survey shows survey

In a new question, survey participants were asked to select the monarchy or to change it with the elected state.

More than half (58 percent) said that they favor the monarchy, 38 percent said they would like the head of an elected state.

The results also revealed that young people were more likely to be in favor of an elected head of the state, and that maintaining the monarchy was the strongest trend among the orthodox and reforms of the UK parties (82 percent and 77 percent respectively).

Labor supporters were almost equally divided, with 49 percent of the monarchy and 48 percent were in favor of an elected state.

More than half of the survey participants identified as Scottish and about two -thirds Welsh Survey participants stated that they are 59 percent and 64 percent in favor of an elected state of the state respectively.

Support to the monarchy was the strongest among the identified British (62 percent) or English (68 percent).

In the blog together, Nataken said: “Support to the monarchy is the strongest among the old, right-hearted persons, while those who favor the head of the elected state are small and more left-free.”

Alex Scols, Natken Research Director, said: “Support for the monarchy is now at its lowest level as our records begin, with more people with more people on its future than before.

“At the same time, when asked to choose directly, most of the public still prefers to keep the monarchy with the head of an elected state.

“This will be important in shaping the debate about the role of the monarchy in the ahead of stress, decline in importance and continuous preference.”

The latest BSA survey included 4,120 interviews with a representative, a random sample of adults in the United Kingdom and held between 16 September and 27 October 2024. While the latest BSA 2024 survey included participants living in Northern Ireland for the first time, the number was very small for the group to give a breakdown.
