LG Sinha addressed ‘Vikati Bharat Yuva Connect’ in IUST, urged youth to lead India’s development journey

Srinagar, July 24, KDC: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today addressed the Vacted India Youth Connect program at Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora.

The Youth Connect is a major initiative under the Vikit India-Uwa connect program launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor appreciated the transformative platform for youth engagement, which aims to strengthen the difference between young citizens and policy makers, while empowering the youth to become an active stakeholder in nation-building.

He said that the initiative is a step towards promoting structured youth engagement and making a strong link between young citizens and policy makers.

“The purpose of the Vikit Bharat Youth Connect Program is to create a platform where young can share ideas, engage in policy dialogues and may be motivated to actively contribute to India’s development journey towards Vikasit India.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi underlined four main objectives for youth connect: attached, encouraged, competent and inspiration. Taking advantage of the Mai Bharat platform, the program emphasizes the dialogue, participation governance and leadership development between the youth of India, making them ready to effectively contribute to the development and development journey of the country towards 2047.

The program is designed to motivate the young minds to engage actively into citizens and national issues. This creates a structured opportunity for the youth to share their views, participate in policy dialogues and clarify their views on matters of national importance, ”said the Lieutenant Governor.

The Lieutenant Governor encouraged the youth of Jammu and Kashmir to lead India’s development journey and provide innovative solutions for the pressure challenges of the country.

“Young will create a bright future of J&K and will ensure long-lasting peace and prosperity. Despite continuous changes and challenges in this 21st century, it is our youth-our most valuable wealth-which has the power to run the socio-economic revolution. Jammu and Kashmir, with infinite possibilities,

Go ahead with the resolution of the nation. Adopt the “Panch Pran” resolution of the Honorable Prime Minister. The Lieutenant Governor told the youth that qualities like initiative, leadership, confidence, perseverance, imagination and courage to learn from failure will guide you on the path of traveling to Vicky India.

He congratulated the Vice Chancellor and Faculty Members of the IUST for implementing progressive reforms over the years, who contributed to changing the higher education sector of J&K and motivating higher educational institutions across the country. This is the right time that IUST should work on the establishment of a semiconductor laboratory, he said.

“We can achieve the resolve of Vikasit India, when Jammu and Kashmir is Vikasit, when our districts are Vikasit, and most importantly, our universities are Vikasit and play an important role in our economic development. I am proud that IUT is working with this resolution in the right letter and soul,” Said “Latent Governor.

Paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Lieutenant Governor urged the youth to completely dedicate themselves to create a spectacular future for India and inclusive society, as has been conceived by Sardar Patel.

The Lieutenant Governor also reiterated his resolve to counter drug men’s, a firm vow to make every university in Jammu and Kashmir drug-free.

He emphasized that only the drug-free campuses can contribute to nation-building, a goal achieved through some major initiatives.

Anti-Drag drive should start at the entry level, encouraging each student to take an oath to stay away from drugs. Each university should establish the ‘Drugs Student Committee’ carried out by faculty members, which will serve as an initial warning mechanism.

Universities should create a confidential reporting system and provide needy students to assure support through helpline such as tele-minds. In addition to counseling and support system, drug de-addiction materials should be included in the academic course, he said.

The Lieutenant Governor implicated the winners of pre-events including Vikasi India Youth Parliament, debate competitions and gave his best wishes for the upcoming main event on August 12. This important day will see a formal launch of “Wikit Bharat -Youth Connect Program” by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, which will simultaneously join students and faculty in 1,339 universities.

On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor administered the Vikasit Bharat Shapath, a collective pledge that confirms his commitment to the progress of the country. He also released the publication of the university and the institutional development plan of the IUST to achieve educational excellence and prepare the university for the future.

Professor Shakeel Ahmed Romshu, Vice Chancellor IUST presented a special presentation of how the vision of Vikasit Bharat@2047 is being integrated into the University’s Institutional Development Scheme (IDP), which includes administrative, educational, research and outreach activities to the department and center levels.

An open dialogue session, young Samvad was also held among the students, which focuses on civil responsibilities, national development and current issues, followed by screening “Sardar @150” video, a visual tribute to life and heritage for a visual tribute.
