Air India Plane Mishp: PM Modi visit the accident site, assess the ground situation in Ahmedabad

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Air India Plain Crash Site in Ahmedabad on Friday and reviewed the ground situation a day after the AI ​​-171 flight for London Gatwick, soon after flying from Ahmedabad International Airport.

The Prime Minster reached the city this morning and proceeded to the site where the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner-242 crashed to carry the passengers and the crew.

He was informed by the authorities on the situation.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarpu, State Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi and other officials were with PM Modi during their visit.

After this, PM Modi met with the injured in the accident at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital.
On coming to the city today, PM Modi received Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Ministers Ram Mohan Nayjrapu and CR Patil.

There were 169 Indian citizens, 53 British citizens, seven Portuguese citizens and a Canadian national in a crashed aircraft. Miraculously, a person, a British citizen of Indian origin, survived the accident, airline officials said.

The aircraft was piloted by a line training captain Captain Sumit Sabarwal with an 8,200 -hour flight experience, which was assisted by the first officer Clive Kundar, who logged 1,100 flying hours.

According to the Air Traffic Control (ATC), the aircraft left from Ahmedabad on runway 23 to 1339 IST (0809 UTC). It called the ATC on an May 1, but after that, the aircraft did not respond to the call made by the ATC.

Soon after departing on runway 23, the aircraft crashed outside the circumference of the airport. An official said that heavy black smoke was coming from the accident site.

Yesterday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and received detailed information about the entire incident.

Shah said that there was no chance to save anyone in the London-Bound Air India plane accident due to high temperatures due to the burning of about 125,000 liters of fuel in the aircraft.

Expressing condolences to the family members of those killed, Shah said that the exact number of deaths would be officially released only after DNA tests. Shah revealed that about 1000 DNA tests have been done so far.

“In just 10 minutes of the incident, we came to know. After that, I informed the Prime Minister, the Home Minister of Gujarat, the Control Room of the Home Department, the Civil Aviation Department and the Minister of Civil Aviation.” The Prime Minister immediately called back, and the union and state government personnel jumped jointly for relief and rescue operations. ,

The Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation is a division of the Ministry of Civil Aviation to investigate aircraft accidents in India.

A formal inquiry has been launched by the Air India Flight 171 by the Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (AAIB) in which 241 people were killed, in which the Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu confirmed on Thursday.

Naidu posted on X, “Following the tragic incident in Ahmedabad, a formal inquiry has been launched by the Bureau of Crisis Investigation (AAIB), in accordance with the international protocol set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO),” Naidu posted on X.

He said that the Government of India was also formed a high-level committee of people specializing in several subjects to investigate the incident of accident and to prevent such incidents in future.

A federal agency authorized by the Congress, National Transport Safety Board (NTSB), an inquiry to investigate the Civil Aviation accidents in the United States (US), is ready to send a team of investigators in India to assist in an investigation into the deadly Ahmedabad aircraft accident.
