Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee (CCS) in New Delhi at 11 am today, focusing on national security issues.
The meeting is expected to review the situation after ‘Operation Sindoor’ and the recent terrorist attacks in Pahalgam, claiming the lives of security personnel. In response to rising regional tensions, there will be discussions on India’s military preparations, intelligence inputs and strategic options.
The Chief Ministers of the Ministries of Defense, Home and Foreign Affairs along with top military and intelligence officials will attend the meeting. There is a possibility of considering diplomatic moves aimed at assessing the ongoing defense works of CCS and addressing the threats from across the border.
This important security review took place a day later when Prime Minister Modi visited Adampur Airbase in Punjab, where he met with armed forces personnel. In his address to the soldiers, the Prime Minister praised his courage and confirmed the gratitude of the nation for their service and sacrifices.
Talking to the soldiers, PM Modi said, “This slogan is not just a proclamation, but a fast of every soldier who is ready to give his life to protect Maa Bharati. When our army removes the danger of atomic blackmail, only one thing echoes from India – ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.”
The CCS meeting is important as India evaluates its next steps after recent military operations and security challenges. (KNS)
