Bhopal:

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lashed out at opposition Indian outfits, saying their leaders were trying to protect corrupt elements and had abused and threatened him to hinder the country’s development.

“I say eliminate corruption, they say save the corrupt,” Prime Minister Modi said at a rally in Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, which goes to polls on April 19.

He said the Lok Sabha elections are a mission to build a new India and sought the people’s blessings to take “major and historic decisions” in the third term of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian Democratic Alliance government.

Prime Minister Modi said the “sea of saffron” who gathered to hear his speech was indicative of the June 4 poll results.

The Congress has sounded the trumpet against the country by forming an ‘Alliance India’, the prime minister said, adding that the parties were fighting among themselves but claimed to be united to stop him.

“But actually, they don’t want to stop Modi. Members of the INDI alliance want to stop the development of the country,” he said.

“That’s why they abused and threatened me. I have given up everything and devoted myself to the mission of serving the country. For Modi, Bharat is my family. Those who join politics to fill their stomachs People should not insult me,” he added.

“I say root out corruption, they say save corruption. The people of the Union have this animosity towards me. I will expose the corrupt money that comes into their coffers. This work will be done faster in the next five years,” the Prime Minister said.

“Dynasty parties openly give out hundreds of millions of rupees. When they count the money, the money counting machines get tired and malfunction. But Congress MPs openly and shamelessly hold rallies seeking a halt to actions and prosecutions against corrupt elements,” he was quoted as saying. say.

Prime Minister Modi further said that this is a very important election for the future of the country.

“This is an election for the development of a new India. We have to push the rocket of development higher,” he said. The Prime Minister pointed out that the people of Madhya Pradesh defeated the Congress party in last year’s assembly elections.

“When Modi assured national security, they abused me. When Modi fulfilled his assurance of abrogating Article 370, which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir, they started speaking in the language of Pakistan,” he said.

The Prime Minister said he was a devotee of Lord Mahakar and was not afraid of anyone, recalling the famous Ujjain deity in the state.

“Modi either bows to Lord Mahakar or bows to the public, for the development and service of the country, I have also learned to tolerate abuse,” he said.

Modi alleged that the opposition leaders also abused him when he fulfilled his promise to consecrate the idol of Lord Ram at the Ayodhya temple.

He also accused the Congress of conspiring to defeat Droupadi Murmu, who was about to become India’s first tribal woman president.

“(When) at the G-20 (summit), big and seemingly impossible global decisions are taken in India, every citizen of the country feels empowered. When India’s fame rises from the United States to Australia At that time, everyone in the Indian country felt that his respect had increased,” the Prime Minister said.

In another jibe at the Congress party, he said that in these elections, Congress leaders are not fighting against the BJP but against each other.

Modi said past Congress governments had engaged with other countries on issues related to India.

“But times have changed today. Big countries in the world, countries at war with each other, are coming to India to discuss their problems… Seeing this situation in our country, the morale of every Indian is high,” he said.

The Prime Minister claimed that Congress’s ideas after independence made the country backward.

“Their minds were filled with arrogance towards the freedom movement. The Congress, as soon as it came to power, denied the sacrifices made by common people in the freedom movement. Coteries and clans around one family dominated,” he said.

The BJP-led alliance government, whose slogan is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” (with everyone, for everyone’s development), prioritizes every city and every village and spends billions of rupees to develop modern Infrastructure, Modi said.

He said his government also gave priority to the weaker sections and respected the Dalit backward class tribal section of society which was deprived of their identity and recognition by the previous government.

Modi claimed that Congress never gave freedom fighter status to revolutionaries like Govind Guru. In an apparent swipe at the Nehru-Gandhi family, he added that the party only wanted to give credit for winning freedom to its “royalty” and not to any tribal heroes.

He said the BJP government conferred freedom fighter status on Govind Guru, honored tribal leader Tandya Mama and started celebrating adivasi Gaurav Diwas to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda day.

The Prime Minister also called on people to vote in large numbers and “break all voting records”.
