Balage, U.P.:
A special court in Uttar Pradesh’s Balaichi has sentenced a 50-year-old man to life imprisonment for raping an infant. Additional District Magistrate (POCSO) Varun Mohit Nigam also imposed a fine of Rs 1.29 lakh on the convicts.
DC Advocate (POCSO Bill) Sant Pratap Singh said the man, Bhondu Rehman, raped a one-year-old girl belonging to a scheduled caste.
On February 17, the man took the girl out on some pretext. When she didn’t return home for a while, her family began searching for her. Soon, they found Bondu and the bleeding baby in a mustard field.
Mr. Singh said that after meeting the family, Bundu left the girl.
