A fifth-generation sculptor, he was among those invited to the grand consecration ceremony here. “I spent sleepless nights working on the sculpture with precision, but it was all worth it. I feel like I am the luckiest person on this earth and today is the best day of my life, I am excited that I learned the art of sculpture from my father. He would have been very proud to see my statue here today,” he said.
Although it was a proud moment for him to witness this historic event in person, his family in Mysuru watched the ceremony live on TV. “He (Yogiraj) spent many sleepless nights and concentrated on making the idol of Ram Lalla. There were days when we hardly talked and he hardly gave time to his family. All this has now been compensated by this big news,” his wife Vijeta had told.
