Seven members of a family, including five children, were burnt to death after a fire broke out in their cabin in Bihar’s Rohtas district on Tuesday, police said.

The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon in Ibrahimpur village of Sasaram Nasriganj division of the district headquarters, an official said.

The police identified the victims as Pushpa Devi (30), her two daughters Kajal Kumari (4) and Gudiya (2) and her son Bajrangi Kumar (6).

The official said the other victims include Kanti Kumari (6), Shivani (3) and Maya Devi (25), all ordinary Relatives of Shipa.

Another woman, Raju Devi, who suffered burn injuries, has been admitted to a government hospital.

Bikramganj Divisional Magistrate Anil Basak told reporters: “The incident took place around 3 pm on Tuesday. All the victims were inside the hut when the fire broke out. Officials and rescue teams rushed to the scene after receiving the information. to the scene.” …The specific cause of the fire is currently unknown. ” He also said that the body has been sent for autopsy and the matter is under investigation.

Villagers told officials that a short circuit in a transformer near the hut was the cause of the fire.
