A magnitude 5.3 earthquake hit Chamba town in Himachal Pradesh tonight. The strong quake was felt throughout the town as well as in Manali, about 100 kilometers from Chamba. So far, no major damage has been reported.
The National Seismological Center said the Chamba earthquake struck at 9:34 pm with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.

Manali local Divyanshu said: “Manali felt quite strong shaking which lasted for about seven seconds.”
“I felt strong shaking for a few seconds. Just when I was about to rush downstairs, the shaking stopped,” Chandigarh resident Sanjay Kumar told Press Trust of India (PTI).
