Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper Rishabh Pant scored 55 off 25 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Wednesday to score his second-and-a-half consecutive victory in IPL 2024 century goals. Pant smashed four fours and five sixes during his batting, but DC lost to KKR in a one-sided game in Visakhapatnam. However, Pant’s return is not only a huge boost for DC but also for Team India. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been out for more than a year due to multiple injuries sustained in a car accident. Pant, who hit half-centuries in the last two innings, seemed to have regained his lost mojo after the horrific crash. In the 12th over of DC’s 273-run chase, Pant dismissed KKR all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer and scored 28 runs off six balls.

He hit four fours and two sixes, one of which was a no-look six. Venkatesh bowled a brilliant delivery that hit leg stump and Pant flicked the ball through deep fine leg for a six.

KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan was in awe of Pant’s efforts and gave him a standing ovation.

Notably, this is the most expensive IPL 2024.

Back in the action, Sunil Narine’s knock of 85 led KKR to a crushing 106-run win over DC with a total of 272-7, the second-best score in IPL history.

KKR remain unbeaten in three games this season as they defeated Delhi by 166 runs in 17.2 overs to top the 10-team points table.

With the upcoming general elections in India, the venue became Delhi’s home ground but Narine and Kolkata made it their home ground.

Narine, 35, smashed Delhi seamer Ishant Sharma’s 50 in 21 balls and scored 26 in an innings with teenage debutant Ankrish Ra Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 104 runs together, while the latter scored 54 runs.

Delhi were never in the chase after losing four wickets, including a duck off fellow Australian Mitchell Starc by Marsh in the fifth over.
