Homegrown carmaker Mahindra showcased the new Thar.e concept car at an early stage event in Cape Town, South Africa last year. Since its official debut, this SUV has become a hot topic in the automotive industry. Now, to clearly show off the overall look, an artist has rendered the electric SUV using a patented design sketch.

Based on the details shared by the two artists, the five-door electric SUV may bear a lot of similarities to its concept incarnation. Customers may not get the design elements of typical ICE models this time around. Instead, they’re likely to get a more futuristic and aggressive treatment in terms of styling and road appearance.

2025 Mahindra Thar Electrical Design

The electric SUV is expected to have a unique front fascia with stylish LED headlight units paired with square LED daytime running lights. The render photos also show the side indicators, which have been placed on either end of the front bonnet. Judging from the pictures, the overall front profile looks very sharp, with every seam making it look bolder and sharper.

Rendered images do not show any interior design. However, significant improvements are expected inside the cabin as well. According to reports, the brand may use an improved touchscreen infotainment system and offer a fully digital instrument cluster. These significant changes could force upcoming electric vehicles to take one of the leading positions in the competitive space.

Expected battery settings

If the rumors are true, the electric SUV may be powered by a 60-80 kWh battery. Not only does this generate decent power, but it also provides good range on a single charge.

In terms of price, Mahindra is likely to launch the electric Thar priced between Rs 25 and 30 lakh. Again, the brand has yet to share details.
