15 injured in trolley accident at Universal Studios theme park in Los Angeles

Fifteen people were injured in a trolley accident at Universal Studios Hollywood in Los Angeles on Saturday night, authorities and the company said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department posted on social media that the department dispatched units to the theme park on Lankershim Boulevard just after 9 p.m.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, the department said.

A spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood emailed a statement to The Associated Press, confirming that an accident involving a trolley at the theme park resulted in “multiple minor injuries.”

The details of the accident are not yet known.

The fire department said the California Highway Patrol will lead the investigation.
