13-year-old boy arrested for allegedly stabbing teen to death at shopping mall

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing to death a “caring and kind” teenager at a shopping mall.

Isaac Brown, 15, was attacked in New Square shopping center in West Bromwich just after 9.15pm on Sunday.

Paramedics pronounced him dead shortly after being called to the scene, which remains cordoned off for a forensic search.

West Midlands Police said detectives arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of murder on Monday.

On Tuesday, police said another 13-year-old boy had also been arrested on suspicion of Isaac’s murder.

Isaac’s family paid tribute to their “funny and mischievous” boy this week.

In a statement, they called him a “wonderful, loving, kind, happy son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin.”

They added that he was “funny and mischievous, always smiling and always willing to help”.

They said: “We can’t understand what happened, we just want him back and this doesn’t happen.”

West Midlands Police said two suspects remain in custody for questioning.
