12-year-old boy charged with attempted murder after girl stabbed him

A 12-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after a teenage girl was stabbed.

Emergency services were called at 3.55pm on Friday to help the 15-year-old victim, who suffered injuries consistent with stab wounds on Adelaide Avenue in Sittingbourne, Kent.

The girl was taken to a London hospital for treatment, where officials said Saturday she remained in stable condition.

On Sunday, police said a 12-year-old boy had been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
