Two people were shot at the University of New Mexico in Albuquuque, one badly, on Friday, where officials said the suspect live on a large scale. He closed the campus and told the students that they were in asylum.
The university said in a statement that the gunshot was fired at the Cassus del Rio Dormitory Complex. The injured person’s injuries were not a threat to life, it said.
“The suspect lives on a large scale and can still be in the premises,” the statement said, a initial warning was posted at around 6:30 pm.
The university said, “With an abundance of caution, the UNM has closed its Albuquuel Central Campus.”
“Many law enforcement agencies are on the scene and are actively investigating,” said this.
The details of both the victims were not released.
There are about 23,000 students during the school year at the university at Central Albuquerk.
