Zoom’s Workspace AI collaboration tool is now available to these users

Zoom Workspace launched on Monday as an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered collaboration platform for video conferencing services. The company first launched the new platform in March, and less than a month after launch, it is now available to users around the world. Zoom Workspace will be part of the same desktop app but will offer a new interface integrated with artificial intelligence capabilities. Some of the new features included in the platform include AI Companion, a new meeting experience, and new features in team chat.

It is free to all paying subscribers. Free users currently don’t have access to Zoom Workspace, which means they have to buy the platform’s most affordable paid plan, Zoom Pro, to take advantage of the AI ​​features, which are priced at Rs 100. 13,200 a year.

The video conferencing platform also shared details of the Zoom AI Companion, an artificial intelligence assistant designed to perform multiple tasks. AI Companion is said to be able to transcribe audio with 95% accuracy and deliver results four times faster than OpenAI’s GPT-4 powered ChatGPT web client. Zoom did not reveal details about the AI ​​assistant, including the large language model (LLM) that powers it or its architecture.

The chatbot offers multiple functions such as summarizing meetings, brainstorming, drafting chat messages and emails, and more. Notably, users can also integrate the chatbot with Zoom Phone and get post-call summaries, voicemail prioritization, and more.

In addition to this, Zoom has also added a new Meetings tab that comes with calendar support and a detailed view that displays the entire meeting lifecycle and all files and information shared before and during the meeting. The interface comes with a simplified toolbar, multi-speaker view, and four color themes, providing an improved experience compared to the standard interface.

Zoom’s team chats are also getting new features. Users will be able to view channel-related assets, whiteboards, and resources in a single view. These tools are available in a chat layout, allowing users to talk to others who are accessing them at the same time.
