WhatsApp, the popular chat app owned by Meta, is constantly introducing new features to keep the experience fresh and efficient. Over the past year, the app has undergone a transformative experience, introducing features like channels, login passwords, and locking chats with passwords. Meta is reportedly working on another useful feature – AI-assisted customer query resolution.

According to WABetaInfo, known for its WhatsApp-centric coverage, the app may soon provide AI-generated answers to queries submitted by users in its support section. This feature is currently in development for Android and is expected to be available for iOS as well, as seen in the WhatsApp beta of the iOS 24.3.10.70 update of the TestFlight app.

The report mentioned that “some WhatsApp-powered messages may be generated by artificial intelligence using Meta’s security technology,” ensuring users can get help and access important information even without human support.

As WABetaInfo notes, if a user’s query remains unresolved with the help of AI, they still have the option to contact a human consumer representative by replying to an AI-generated message indicating the need for further assistance. This might be ideal for scenarios that don’t require human intervention, and might help both the user and WhatsApp in the long run.

This feature is designed to help users resolve issues outside of business hours and reduce waiting times. However, a release date for the technology is unclear as it’s not yet part of the beta.
