Cyberpunk 2077 will be free to play as part of a limited trial next weekend, according to developer CD Projekt Red. The popular game will be free to play for a few hours on current-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony, but not for PC gamers. You’ll have access to the Cyberpunk 2077 base game – a full download of the game is required to access the trial. The Phantom Free expansion will not be part of this weekend’s trial.

according to detail On the Cyberpunk 2077 website, the free trial will begin on March 28th at 4pm CEST (8pm US Standard Time) and end on April 1st at 8:59am CET (US Ends at 12:29 pm IST). During the trial period, you’ll be able to play the game for five hours on current-generation consoles (PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S). CDPR said the trial did not include PC gamers due to “technical reasons.”

You’ll only be able to play Cyberpunk for five hours during the trial, after which you can purchase the game to continue playing. According to the developer, if you choose to purchase Cyberpunk 2077 after the trial period ends, your saved progress will carry over to the full game.

Five hours of gameplay is quite short for a free trial, especially considering that the game will contain multiple cutscenes with dialogue that will take up a considerable amount of time in the limited-time trial. If you already own the base game, you won’t be able to try the Phantom Free expansion pack as it’s not part of the trial.

In order to experience Cyberpunk 2077 in its upcoming trial, you’ll need to download the entire game – a 99.3GB download on the PlayStation 5 and around 103GB on Microsoft’s current console. You don’t need a subscription (like Game Pass) to play the game during the trial, and multiple players can try the game on one console as long as they have separate user accounts.
