A spokesperson for The Tumoro Music Festival says a Canadian woman has died after attending a large gathering in Belgium.
Debbie Wilmson said in an email statement that a 35 -year -old Canadian woman fell ill on the festival on Friday.
She says that the woman was given first aid and then rushed to the university hospital in Antwerp, but the organizers of the festival were told on Saturday morning that the woman had died.
Wilmson says that the office of Antwerp Public Prosecutor is investigating the cause of death. The office of Antwerp Public Prosecutor did not respond to the requests for information about the woman.
Global Affairs Canada says it is aware of the reports that a Canadian woman died in Belgium, but said it would not issue information due to privacy.
Global Affairs Canadian spokesperson Sabrina Williams says it is in touch with local authorities.
