Year -Dardal, Belur Math’s appeal for ‘Kumari Puja’ remains the same.

Justin, 30/09/202530/09/2025

Kolkata, on Tuesday, on the occasion of Maha Ashtamai, 30 September (IANS), ‘Kumari Pooja (Worship of Girls in the form of Goddess Durga) in Belur Math, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission headquarters with Kolkata-Sahiyak Hawarh, which were accompanied by the bells. And the spiritual association, Maa Sarada and disciple Swami Vivekanda.

The root cause of Swamiji’s enthusiastic believers and his philosophy of “service to God through the service of humanity” is that the devotion of Kumari Puja is making the same year after the year, as Swamiji started this ritual in Belur Mathematics in 1901.

According to Jayita Sarkar, a teacher of English literature, the main idea behind Kumari Puja, in one of Swamiji’s philosophy and one of the prestigious Kolkata-based schools, is an expression of respect for “women-power” and “women’s-garima” in the society.

“Swamiji established Belur Mathematics, inspired by the teachings of Shri Ramakrishna Paramahansa and with the support of mother Sarda, said – ‘The immaculate rays here will enlighten the whole world and change the pattern of human life.’ For me, with the goal of changing this behavior in the human idea process, Swamiji began Kumari Puja, especially, where the main idea is worshiping a young girl, which is a symbol of mother-in-law or women empowerment for every woman.

According to Sampa Chaudhary, a senior lawyer of the Calcutta High Court and an enthusiastic enthusiast of Swamiji, the concept of Kumari Puja also reflects the spiritual views of Shri Ramakrishna to see the goddess in every woman.

According to the historical record, nine girls were worshiped on the first occasion of Kumari Puja in 1901. Since then, the ritual became an integral part of Durga Autumn Tithi in Belur Math.

On Tuesday, every year, thousands of people visited Belur Mathematics and became a witness to the ritual, which was associated with the same enthusiasm and devotion spirituality.

The ritual started around 9 am and ended after 10 am

Thousands of followers of Sanatan Dharma celebrated Kumari Puja with grandeur in Belur mathematics. They consider this ritual together to worship God and establish the dignity of women.

On Tuesday, the ritual was performed according to tradition, which was performed with the honor and acceptance of women’s power, worshiping “divine femininity” and service for humanity.

The monks of Ramakrishna Mathematics and Ramakrishna Mission performed rituals. Thousands of devotees participated in the puja, who were coming from distant places, maintaining dignity and devotional spirituality associated with rituals.

The day will end with Sandhi Puja, will be held at the turn of Maha Ashtami and Maha Navami, which is considered the most sacred moment of Durga Puja Festival. The ritual reminds me of the victory of Goddess Durga over demons, Chanda and Munda.
