Xiaomi Mi 14 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC launched ahead of MWC 2024

Xiaomi Mi 14 made its world premiere on Sunday (February 25), one day before the 2024 Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicks off in Barcelona. This flagship phone from the Chinese brand is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC and features an LTPO AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 120Hz. Xiaomi Mi 14 is equipped with Leica-branded triple rear cameras and Summilux lenses. The phone has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating and supports 90W HyperCharge wired charging. Mi 14 was launched in China last year along with Mi 14 Pro.

Xiaomi 14 price, availability

Xiaomi Mi 14 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version is priced at 999 euros. Available in three colors: black, emerald green, and white. The phone is said to be priced under Rs. 75,000 in India, it will be even cheaper after adding bank discounts.

Xiaomi Mi 14 is confirmed to be officially launched in the Indian market on March 7 and can be purchased through Amazon. It is also said to be available on Flipkart. The Indian version is expected to have similar specifications to the global version.

To recall, Xiaomi Mi 14 was launched in China in October last year with a starting price of CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 50,000) for the 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage variant.

The dual-SIM (nano + e-SIM) Xiaomi Mi 14 runs Android 14-based HyperOS interface and features a 6.36-inch LTPO AMOLED (1,200×2,670 pixels) display with a pixel density of 460ppi and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The screen is rated at a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, supports HDR10+, and has a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and the back has a 3D curved glass coating. It is powered by 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

In terms of optics, the Mi 14 comes with Leica-branded triple rear camera units with Summilux lenses. The camera setup includes a 50-megapixel Light Hunter 900 sensor with f//1.6 aperture optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50-megapixel telephoto camera with Leica 75mm floating lens technology, and a 115-degree field of view. For selfies and video chats, there is a 32-megapixel in-display front-facing camera. There is a punch-hole cutout in the center of the display to accommodate selfie shooters.

Connectivity options on the Mi 14 include 5G, Wi-Fi 7, NFC, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, Beidou, NavIC, and USB Type-C port. Onboard sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, proximity sensor, linear motor, infrared emitter, flicker sensor, and color sensor. Additionally, the phone comes with a four-microphone array. It comes with Dolby Atmos-enabled stereo speakers. The phone also has an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.

Xiaomi Mi 14 is equipped with a 4610mAh battery and supports 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The 90W HyperCharge technology takes 31 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%. The phone size is 152.8×71.5×8.20mm and weighs 193 grams.
