The 41-year-old was charged along with Robert Kurlander, who helped her sell the diaries. The two initially tried to negotiate a settlement with representatives from Donald Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign. However, after the campaign withdrew, the representative suggested they turn over the diaries and other materials to the FBI. Later, they sold it to Project Veritas.

The homes of Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe and two associates were searched by FBI officers as part of an investigation into the allegations.
