Will ensure smooth, safe conduct of amarnath yatra, mela kheer bhawani: CM omar abdullah

Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Tuesday that the government is taking adequate measures to ensure the safe and smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra and Mela Kheer Bhavani.

According to the news agency -Kashmir News Observer (KNO), talking with reporters in Gandalball, CM Omar, said that the administration is making adequate arrangements, while security related measures are also being taken to ensure the smooth conduct of Mela Kheer Bhavani and Amarnath Yatra.

He said that tourism has been badly killed, but currently the situation is not to revive the region again. He said, “Once the Amarnath Yatra ends, the government will sit with the stakeholders and take measures to revive tourism,” he said.

He said that tour operators from outside also want tourism to thrive here again. He said, “Some groups have started coming back. Revival measures will be taken after Firra’s conclusions.”

The Chief Minister visited his constituency in Genderbal, where he inaugurated the old age house in Pandach, and also a land stone for the veterinary hospital. He also visited Kheer Bhavani Temple to review the system for the upcoming fair- (KNO)
