Google has a habit of renaming products and even canceling many of them. Recently, Google announced major AI changes to its latest products, which made everyone curious about the renaming and the reason for it.

We’re talking about Bard, rebranded as Gemini, which will be used on high-end computing systems and mobile devices. Google CEO Sundar Pichai explained the reason for the name change and what he believes is the reason for it.

In a recent interview, Pichai said that the company believes that Gemini is the logical final name for its artificial intelligence solutions, and that they want to have an artificial intelligence model that is capable and safe at the same time. “It really makes sense to evolve this into Gemini because when you use it, you’re talking directly to the underlying Gemini model,” Pichai told CNBC.

He also pointed out that Google plans to continue advancing its artificial intelligence model under the name Gemini, and users will be able to experience it directly. While Google is still gaining a foothold in the AI space, the company has decided to offer a subscription version of its AI model called Gemini Advanced and bundle AI capabilities into Google One, with its new package priced at $19.9 (about 1,600 Rs.) per month.

Now, just because Google’s CEO says Gemini will be the name of a future AI model doesn’t mean the company will actually keep its promise, which we blame on Google’s record of breaking its promises. The company said its online gaming platform Stadia is not shutting down.

As it turns out, the service ended the service by breaking the news to customers in a low-key manner to avoid major media backlash. Google is now moving heavily into artificial intelligence, leading to thousands of job losses at the company as it looks to realign its growth areas and manage the costs of investing in those units.
