Who is Jaffer Sadiq, accused of smuggling Rs 2,000 crore of drugs out of the country?

Tamil film producer Jaffer Sadiq has been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs worth crores of rupees in a drug network. A week ago, he seized Rs 180 crore worth of methamphetamine from two railway passengers and a garbage dump in Tamil Nadu. The drugs were to be smuggled into Sri Lanka.

  3. Sadiq was expelled from the DMK last month for his alleged involvement in drug smuggling. BJP state president K Annamalai recently shared his photos with several politicians, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and State Minister Udayanidhi Stalin.
  4. In his social media profile, he claims to have founded the JSM Group of Companies. He was involved in the real estate industry in his early years.
