Esha Deol and her husband Bharat Takhtani, who have been married for 11 years, recently issued a statement confirming their amicable separation. They married in 2012 and have two daughters: Radhya, 6, and Miraya, 4. However, this isn’t the first time the couple has decided to separate. In an old interview, Elsa revealed that they broke up when they were teenagers.

Esha’s sister Ahana had earlier revealed that the two dated when they were in ninth or tenth grade. However, they parted ways at the time and didn’t rekindle their romance until nearly a decade later. Talking about their breakup, Ayesha said in an old interview, “It was like a hide and seek between us.” Bharat mentioned that the breakup was due to a misunderstanding.

Esha said: “Bharat took me for a ride and he tried to hold my hand and I was like, ‘How dare you hold my hand?’ I broke down, I lost it, I was like… After that day, I didn’t answer his calls or talk to him or do anything. Many years later, when we came back, he finally asked at the same signal: “Baby, can I hold your hand now” ? “I thought, ‘Yeah. You can.'” Barratt added that when they got back together as adults, they “basically became hot again.”

Esha Deol is Dharmendra’s daughter from his second marriage to Hema Malini. She also has a sister named Ahana Deol. Before becoming Bollywood’s dream girl, Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur. Rumors of Aisha and Bharat’s separation have been making headlines for quite some time now. It all started when the latter skipped mother-in-law Hema Malini’s birthday party last year. He also didn’t show up to Elsa’s birthday celebration.

They recently announced their separation in a joint statement. “We have mutually decided to part ways amicably. The best interests and well-being of our two children are of paramount importance to us through this transition in our lives. We hope that our privacy will be respected,” they told Delhi Times the statement read.
